Dear HPCS Families,

Unfortunately, as I have been preparing us for the possibility, Public Health Madison and Dane County, looking at the evolving COVID data, just released a new order regarding schools being open for in-person instruction. You can read the press release at this link: News Release.

In-Person & Virtual (3K-2nd)

Grades 3K through 2nd grade will be allowed to conduct in-person instruction as long as we also offer 100% virtual education as an option (something we have already been planning and preparing to do). HPCS at both Madison and Mount Horeb campuses will open for those grades.

Only 100% Virtual 3rd - 8th

At this time, grades 3-8 are not allowed to be open for in-person education - only 100% virtual education. The new order includes a metric to determine what data conditions will need to exist and for how long before additional grades will be allowed to open for in-person instruction. The metric also considers the possibility of eliminating any in-person instruction if conditions evolve negatively.

Our school leadership team has already met this evening to begin the pivot to our new plans. We understand everyone is eager to know more details. We will send out additional information no later than Wednesday, August 24th - especially regarding 100% virtual instruction.

The Parent Night virtual meeting conducted in Mount Horeb on Thursday night and scheduled for Monday night in Madison will need to be rescheduled. Please look for another email communication once we have those dates/times arranged.

We covet your continued prayers as we plan what will be best for our students, teachers, and staff.

Serving Him with You,

Charles "Chuck" Moore, Ph.D
Principal

Dear High Point Families,

We are so excited to welcome back your students for their first day of school! However, after much prayer, consideration, and feedback from our staff, I, along with our Campus Advisory Committee and our Leadership Team, have decided to delay our first day to Monday, August 31, 2020. This will ensure we have adequate time to meet the new guidelines sent out yesterday from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and give our teachers more time to prepare.

We will continue with the previously announced Parent Night meetings for Mount Horeb tonight (8/20) and Madison on Monday night (8/24). The first days for preschool on both campuses will remain August 31st as previously announced. Kindergarten will start on August 31st but will have half-day sessions Monday through Wednesday in sync with the original plan.

We appreciate your continued prayers, patience, and flexibility. We are thankful for a gracious God who guides our steps.

Enjoy a few extra days of summer!

Serving Him with You,

Charles "Chuck" Moore, Ph.D
Principal
